ICC Names Sudanese War Criminal Suspects
February 26, 2007 Leave a comment
The International Criminal Court has named two Sudanese suspected of war crimes in the Darfur region of Sudan. One is a member of the Sudanese government and the other a Janjaweed milita leader.
However, the Sudanese government will not hand these two over to the ICC since Sudan does not recognize the ICC and claims that the ICC has no jurisdiction over Sudan. So now we wait and see what steps the ICC will take next with regard to this. In addition to these two, I wonder if there will be more people, linked to the Sudan government, who will also be named as suspects… time will tell
